Penrith Community Mens’ Shed
June 4th 2014 at 10:00 we had our first meeting with 16 men attending. From that first meeting we have continued to grown, welcoming men in, helping in the community, learning how to enjoy life, providing advice regarding physical and mental well being, learning new skills and most of all being a place where mateship is guaranteed. What makes the Penrith Community Mens’ Shed successful ……… the men.
So men, if you haven’t yet found a shed to go to, bored at home, are you looking for a place where you can use your hands to make something or somewhere to have a cuppa and a chat? Then why not drop by and see for yourself what our shed is all about. We located at 11 Morello Terrace Caddens (Kingswood). You will be made feel welcomed, a part of the group and you can help us make this a great place. Make sure you get there by 10:30 and join in for morning tea and a chat. What is a Men’s Shed?
The modern Men’s Shed is an updated version of the shed in the backyard that has long been a part of Australian culture. Men’s Sheds are springing up all around Australia. If you looked inside one you might see a number of men restoring furniture, maybe making bird houses or making a seat. You might also see a few young men working with the older men learning new skills and maybe also learning something about life from the men they work with. You will see teabags, coffee cups and a comfortable area where men can sit and talk. Come and see for yourself!
